When my daughter was quite young, we used to take walks in our local park. The trees there were very tall and at one end of the park there was a delightful foot bridge which spanned a ditch that filled with water only during heavy rains. The rest of the time it was a lush area, dotted with mushrooms.

Whenever we walked over that bridge, I would ask my daughter if she could hear the fairies singing. She inevitably said yes, which always resulted in uscrouching down low to see if we could see the fairies in their tiny mushroom homes.

In this lesson, children will use their imaginations to create whimsical mushroom houses.
